Winston Carroo is currently
the
Executive Director of Agricultural Missions, Inc; an ecumenical
organization dedicated to the accompaniment of rural peoples in their
quest for justice and improved quality of life.
He was educated at the Mico
Teachers
College and taught high school in his native country of Jamaica. He
later pursued graduate studies at Cornell University specializing in
Agronomy and Agricultural Extension Education.
For the past thirty years,
Winston
Carroo has been engaged in professional activities that support small
farmer and cooperative development with a focus on farmer training
and community development. Over the past seven years, he has been
working on the development of community-centered models of achieving
local food security and agricultural based economic development in
several countries in Africa.
Winston Carroo has worked
with
Agricultural Missions for the past twenty years and prior to that he
was technical trainer and training director for the United States
Peace Corps.
